The "City of Palladio" was home to the most important architect of the Renaissance, whose designs have influenced architecture all over the Western world. Home to the Rotunda, inspiration for Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, Vicenza was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.
We visit this magnificent, but enjoyably walkable city, and spend a day or two cycling through the vineyards and farmlands of the lovely Colli Berici wine region just south of Vicenza.
