Private Custom Italy Tours - Veneto Region
Located in the northeast corner of Italy, the Veneto is best known for its' iconic capital, Venice, but the region itself offers so much more! Almost no other region in Italy boasts such diversity - from the island city of Venice to the vineyards of Amarone and Prosecco, the shores of Lake Garda to the Dolomite mountains of Cortina. The cities of Verona and Vicenza, lovely hilltop villages like Asolo, “The City of a Hundred Horizons”, historic walled towns like Marostica, Soave and Castelfranco Veneto. Art, architecture, history await us around every bend in the road. This is a region Kathy and Vernon highly recommend for mixed groups, with wonderful options for city walks, nature hikes, and cycling from flatter tourist-friendly routes to hills favored by the Giro d’italia.
Best activities: All - walking, hiking, cycling.
Best time of year: April - October.
Visiting off-season: The Veneto is one of the better regions for visiting off-season. Venues are open year round, and a tour with pleasant walks around cities and towns is possible, with lots of activities to round out your visit.
